More Than A Provider

If social care is an island, how can we build bridges and change the landscape?  Let’s come together for stories about action to inspire more action. Led by people and communities and supported by providers.

What’s it all about?

Pre-pandemic a small group of social care support providers, aligned and committed to the vision and ambitions of the Social Care Future movement came together to explore the part we need to play in building this future.

We’ve worked together to build on this learning and grow our skills and capacity to go further. We called the initiative “More than a Provider” because it aims to go beyond traditionally commissioned “services” and to see how our connections and relationships can better contribute as allies and partners of local disabled people.

What is this for?

This event is for you if you are:

· Someone who draws on social care who wants to shape a different future

· Involved in exciting things in your community you want to share

· A support provider helping make these things happen

· Keen to connect, share ideas and capacity or develop new networks and initiatives

· A commissioner or public servant in social care, health or beyond who thinks this might be the future

If you share this vision, come and join our event and support our growing movement, join the conversations and our planning for next steps and actions - you might have something to share, or a story to tell that will inspire others and contribute to our journey – a better future for social care and our communities.

We have so many exciting contributors that a detailed event programme will be shared nearer the day!

Supporting safe Covid practice at our Event.

We understand and respect that most people are now managing their own approach to Covid, but we wanted to share how we are approaching safe Covid support at our event as there may be over 150 plus people joining us on the day. There will be some periods where we all come together, but many of the sessions will be in smaller rooms with less people.

§  We are not asking people to wear a mask but understand some people may wish to use one.

§  We will provide masks for those we want to use them, and we will have sanitisers throughout the venue.

§  We are working with the venue to ensure there is as much ventilation as is practicable.

§  We will have a quiet room, for those who may like some space and a break from larger groups.

We hope this is helpful and supportive.
